Bereavement

You may be looking at this because you have recently lost a loved one. We hope that the information below may be of assistance to you as you plan a funeral.

St Michael’s works with all the funeral directors in the Amersham, Chesham and High Wycombe areas. They will be able to help you with the paperwork and legal side of a death. The funeral director will also make contact with a local priest or minister if you would like a Christian funeral service, whether in church, at a graveside or at the Chilterns Crematorium.

If a member of the clergy at St Michael’s is conducting the funeral, he or she will be happy to meet with you to assist you in planning the service, wherever you choose to hold it. You might like to think about music, which hymns you would like to sing and whether a member of your family or a friend will be reading or giving a tribute. If you are having a service at St Michael’s, we have an organ to accompany hymns and a sound system with the facility to play CDs. It is also possible to have a service of Holy Communion as part of the funeral if you would like this.

Please contact Hazel Miller, the Parish Administrator, on 01494 726680 or email office@stmichaelsamersham.org.uk. if you have any further questions.
